Luangprabang showcase

Colors of the Luangprabang night market.
Luangprabang is even more touristy than Luangnamtha. When I first got here I hated it because of how touristy it was. Many of them are French, since Laos was a French colony. Crepes and baguettes everywhere.
Snake booze. One of the many weird products sold to young and stupid tourists.

I see why it's so popular, now. The city is a UNESCO world heritage site due to all the temples, and they are really nice.

Intricate gold decorations on a temple.

Fishing in the Mekong.

"Hello, friend!", it seems to say.

Monks escaping the afternoon sun.

Nearby waterfall.

I lost my glasses while diving into the waterfall pools, right at the one spot that had a really deep underwater hole. Good thing I have my contact lenses!
